Super Bowl Pool Results Overall Winner: Dom Mascis 2nd - Kim Cochran 3rd - Peg Koerner |
Final Results
Congratulations go out Dom Mascis-3, for scoring 99 points and taking home this year’s Playoff Pool championship. Dom was one of three players to have the Chiefs to win the Big Game and the other two, Kim Cochran and Peg Koerner make up our winners of the Top 3 Money Spots. Dom and Kim finished with 9-4 records in the tournament, which was the best in the league. Third-place finisher Peg Koerner catapulted from the middle of the pack with her “Chiefs For The Win” pick in the Super Bowl to grab the last Money Spot, despite finishing with a 6-7 record. Dom’s key pick was getting Detroit to the NFC Championship game and prevailing over the Eagles, something that the next three finishers did not do.
For the Weekly Rounds, Charles Tuner-2, and Michael Pennel each tied with 15 points and tied on their tiebreaker scores of 49 points so that prize kicked to Round 2. In Round 2, Jason Blackford-2, and Kerry Wojcik-2 both tied with 24 points and identical 38-point tie breakers so the $20 from the first two rounds rolled over to Round 3 where AJ Blackford snagged the $30 for being the only player to pick both Super Bowl participants correctly. In the Super Bowl game, Peg Koerner’s tiebreaker score of 44 points, wins her an additional $10 as she grabs the Round 4 weekly prize over Dom-3 and Kim Cochran Congrats to Dom, Kim, Peg, and AJ!
TOP 3 MONEY SPOTS:
1st Place: Dom Mascis-3 - 99 points - $210
2nd Place: Kim Cochran - 96 points - $126
3rd Place: Peg Koerner - 81 points - $84
WEEKLY WINNERS:
Week 1, Wild Card Weekend: Roll Over - $10
Week 2, Divisional Round: Roll Over - $20
Week 3, Conference Championships: AJ Blackford - $30
Week 4, Super Bowl: Peg Koerner - $10
THE FINAL WORD:

Rules & Regulations
COST: The cost of the Playoff Pool is still the everyday low price of $10.
You can use Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle (Chase QuickPay) to pay your entry fee (instructions below).
WHO CAN PLAY: The game is open to anyone who plays PEW pools and their families and friends (yep, just about everyone!). Players may play multiple picksheets.
TOURNAMENT STYLE PLAY: Games will be picked as a tournament bracket, and we will not use confidence rankings for each game. Like a "March Madness" style NCAA pool, you will receive a set point value for each round when you pick games correctly in that round.
ALL GAMES ON THE WEBSITE: Go to the PEW website as you normally would or follow this link there to the Pool Selection page: http://www.simplysportsware.com/PoolSelection.aspx If prompted, log in with your username and password. Then, on the Pool Selection page, select PEW Playoffs Pool under Football Post-Season Bracket. If you access the website through the regular season PEW Pool instead, select My Pools from the Pool menu at the top of the page, and this will take you to the Pool Selection page.
TO PICK GAMES: On the PEW Playoff Pool page on the website, click Make Picks and the playoff brackets will appear. Then just click on the teams in the brackets you think will win the playoff games. The winning team that you've chosen will automatically advance to the next bracket. Repeat this process until you've filled out your entire bracket. First round games are worth 3 points each, second round games are 6 points, conference championship games are worth 18 points each, and the Super Bowl, correctly picked, is worth 48 points for a total of 120 points.
PLAYING MORE THAN ONE PICKSHEET: You may enter the PEW Super Bowl Pool more than once ($10 per picksheet) by using the "Aliases" function found in your "Quick Links" menu on the website. Click into the Aliases page, and simply press the "Add Alias" button at the bottom of the page. The website will generate a second picksheet for you under: "your name-2." If you have any questions, contact Dave Pennel ([email protected]), Jason Blackford ([email protected]) or Matt Steiner([email protected]).
DEADLINE TO PLAY: You must pick all of the tournament games before 3:30 pm CT on Saturday, January 14. At 3:30 pm CT, the website will lock and you will not be able to make any picks. There are no auto-picks available for this pool, and the website will not accept partial picksheets. If you are unable to access the website before the first game Saturday, you may contact Dave Pennel ([email protected]) Jason Blackford ([email protected]), or Matt Steiner ([email protected]) and make picks via email.
PAYOUTS: Top three spots in the overall standings will win payouts (1st - 50%, 2nd - 30% - 3rd - 20%). We will also pay out $10 for weekly winners. If necessary, weekly ties will be broken at the end of the tournament using the Super Bowl tie-breaker score you enter on the website. The Super Bowl game tie-breaker score will also break ties for the overall standings. Unbroken ties will roll over to succeeding rounds until broken. If there are no clear-cut winners for any of the weeklies, the weekly prizes will then roll into the Super Bowl game at the end of the tournament and the winner of the Super Bowl game will also win any rolled-over weekly prizes. The Super Bowl Tie Breaker will also break any ties for the Overall winners.
